The idea for this book came to me about four years ago and as it remained with me I decided to create this little black and white memory garden. I have been returning to Laurito and Da Adolfo every summer since 2006 and it’s the perfect escape where I have spent much time diving into the pleasures of life and letting go. The photographs presented here are taken with various cameras at hand in the period between 2008-2014. A warm and grateful thank you to the Da Adolfo family and team for their trust and generosity allowing me to pursue my project capturing moments in this paradise.

Ina Otzko is a Norwegian artist working in mixed media. She graduated from Goldsmiths College in London (MA Image & Communication / MFA Fine Art) and Universität der Künste, Berlin (MA Sound Studies). She co-Directs an Art Project and AIR program, ABH 66°N, in Helgeland (Norway), is on the Board of LIAF (Lofoten International Art Festival), is an Art Consultant for KORO (the Norwegian Public Art commissioning body), has curated exhibitions, made installations, won commissions. When not working on art projects, alone or in collaboration, Otzko travels frequently, between her bases in her hometown of Sandnessjøen (Norway), Berlin, London, Rome, Positano (Italy); or for research and exploration purposes. Her main preoccupations are communication and patterns of behaviour how we express ourselves and try to connect, what we mean (perceive), how we live our values (our belief). She seeks concepts that can be eloquently transcribed, direct in their simplicity, or intuitively shared.
